Crimidine is a pyrimidine derivative and vitamin B 6 - antagonist . Crimidin leads to a disturbance of the CNS via the glutamic acid metabolism and triggers convulsions .

It was commercially available until 1983 as "Castrix poison grains" and "Castrix pellets".

use

Crimidin was used as a rodenticide, in particular to control field mice .

Prohibition

There is a ban on the use of crimidin in Germany. Crimidin is not approved as a rodenticide in any EU country or Switzerland.
