Crystal Marie Reed (born February 6, 1985 in Detroit , Michigan ) is an American actress . She is best known for her role as "Allison Argent" on MTV series Teen Wolf .

life and career

Born in Detroit , Michigan , and raised in Roseville , Michigan, Reed began her acting career at a young age. Even in junior high , she acted in various theater productions at her school. She was seen in the plays Anatevka and Annie and was a member of the Macomb Junior Play Association at the time. Although she doesn't quite know how she got into acting herself, she says that she has always loved the theater and thought that acting could be a lot of fun for her. So she continued her career at high school, where she also belonged to the dance team of her school and took part in various plays, including Grease . Immediately after high school, Crystal Reed moved to Wayne State University , where she was accepted into a BFA program and thereby received special support. Since she often could not cope with the methods that were taught to her at the university, she decided to quit her studies early and then moved to Chicago . While she was pretty close to her family in the big city in the state of Illinois and had the time to consider where her future career would lead, she began to take acting classes in the city of almost 3 million people. In addition, she was also used as a model and was used in smaller productions as an actress. During this time she barely got a small guest role in the Oscar-winning blockbuster The Dark Knight , but after she met one of the producers, she couldn't really convince. After initially being a bit reverent about a trip to the West Coast , she decided relatively soon to make her way to Los Angeles . In doing so, she came to the west coast around the middle of 2009, from where she made a rapid and, for her personal, “surreal” breakthrough in just a short time.

Although she made her first appearance in front of a camera when she was in Chicago, promoting Pure Romance , a registered brand for sex toys and sex toy parties, she got her first job in Los shortly after her time in Chicago Angeles. She was booked for a commercial for the cosmetics company Maybelline . For the first time on a set, Reed finally starred in the MTV production The Hard Times of RJ Berger , where she was guest-starred in one episode. This episode was shot on November 9th, 2009, exactly one year to the day before the film Skyline , with which Reed celebrated its real international breakthrough, had its premiere. While she was already working on the television series Teen Wolf , only to be brought into the official cast of the series released in 2011 shortly thereafter, Crystal Reed also auditioned for a role in the film Skyline , which was initially considered a small independent film . After she then worked on the pilot for Teen Wolf and it wasn't foreseeable how long it would take with the production of the pilot, they weren't sure at first whether Reed, who did well in the original casting, could still be used for the film. Shortly after the Teen Wolf pilot finished filming in the Atlanta suburbs, Reed returned to California and immediately began filming Skyline , where she eventually starred in the supporting role of Denise . In 2010 she also had an episode of CSI: Vegas , Rizzoli & Isles and CSI: NY . She also had a small role in the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love. , which was released in the summer of 2011, where she starred alongside Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling, among others.

From 2011 she played the female lead in the MTV series Teen Wolf . Before the beginning of the second part of the third season, Reed wanted to leave the series because at 29 she felt too old to continue portraying a 17-year-old and because she wanted to gain new experiences. She eventually left the series at the end of the third season in March 2014.

In the meantime, she was with her fellow actor Daniel Sharman until June 2013 . Reed has been in a relationship with presenter Darren McMullen since July 2013.
