Crystal Waters (* 10. October 1964 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American House - singer .
biography
Crystal Waters is the daughter of jazz musician Junior Waters and a niece of actress and singer Ethel Waters . She studied computer science at Howard University in Washington, DC and initially worked as a programmer after graduation. In addition to her job, she worked as a session singer , wrote songs and recorded a demo tape with the song Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless) composed by her , which she brought to the people herself. After a while, three DJs who worked together under the name Basement Boys got in touch with her and supported her.
Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless) became a huge success in 1991 and reached top ten placements worldwide. In Switzerland it was a number one hit , in Germany and Great Britain it reached number 2, in Austria number 3. In the USA the single went gold .
In the following years Waters was successful with other songs. With 100% Pure Love , she had another gold single that made it into the top 20 in several countries. Other hits were Makin 'Happy or Say ... If You Feel Alright . After 2000 she released two best-of albums and worked with other artists, so she was in the charts in 2003 with Dutch and the title My Time and in 2007 with Alex Gaudino and the title Destination Calabria . In the same year the American went on a world tour.
In 2010 the single When People Come Together vs. Bellani & Spada. In 2011 Waters sang the club hit Le Bump for Yolanda Be Cool .
