The Cuispes district is located in the Bongará province in the Amazonas region in northern Peru . The district was founded on November 11, 1944. It has an area of 96.4 km². The 2017 census counted 708 inhabitants. In 1993, the population was 744, in 2007 782 administrative center is the 1,880 m village high altitude Cuispes with 394 inhabitants (2017). Cuispes is 4 km east-northeast of the city of Pedro Ruiz Gallo .
Geographical location
The Cuispes district is located in the northern Peruvian Andes in the south of the Bongará province. The area is drained to the west towards the Río Utcubamba .
The district of Cuispes borders in the west on the districts Jazán and Shipasbamba , in the north on the district Florida , in the east on the district Jumbilla and in the south on the San Carlos .
Attractions
In the east of the district is the 870 m high Yumbilla waterfall .
