Cully Hamner
Cully Hamner (born March 7, 1969 in Huntsville , Alabama ) is an American comic book artist and writer who is best known for his work on books such as Green Lantern : Mosaic , Blue Beetle , Black Lightning : Year One , Detective Comics . He is also the illustrator of the 2003 mini-series RED , which was adapted with the feature film RED - Älter, Härter, Besser ( 2010 ), as well as its sequel RED 2 ( 2013 ) each with Bruce Willis .
Career
Cully Hamner was born on March 7, 1969. He graduated from Albert P. Brewer High School in Somerville, Alabama . In 1992 a first comic was published: Green Lantern: Mosaic . Since then he has worked for various American comic publishers, including the series Blue Beetle and RED . He was also one of the founders of Gaijin Studios in Atlanta and worked as a creative consultant for 12 Gauge Comics , a publisher that published The Ride , Gun Candy , Body Bags and Occult Crimes Taskforce, among others .
Hamner was involved in Warren Ellis' series Down . He designed the current version of DC Comics ' Blue Beetle and worked on the series from 2006 to 2007, after the tenth issue he only contributed the cover illustrations. In 2009 his miniseries Black Lightning : Year One , created with author Jen Van Meter , appeared , which was nominated for two Glyph Awards . In 2010, RED was filmed by Summit Entertainment as RED - Older, Harder, Better , followed by the sequel RED 2 in 2013 .
In June 2009, DC Comics' monthly Detective Comics magazine began Hamner's series The Question . From 2011 he was involved in the New 52 called the restart of all DC Comics series by creating the first three editions of The Shade with the author James Dale Robinson .
