Cutimarca (also: Kutimarcra ) is a town in the Potosí Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
location
Cutimarca is the most populous village in the canton of Irupata in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Chayanta in the province of Rafael Bustillo . Cutimarca lies at an altitude of 3,806 m in one of the high valleys of the Cordillera Azanaques , the ridge directly east of the village rises to over 3,900 m. The place is located on a right tributary of the Río Chayanta , which flows further downstream as Río San Pedro into the Río Grande .

Cutimarca is located east of the Bolivian Altiplano in the northern section of the Cordillera Central . The vegetation is that of the puna , the climate is a typical time of day climate in which the daily temperature fluctuations are greater than the mean seasonal fluctuations.
The annual average temperature of the region is 9 ° C, the monthly average values fluctuate between just under 5 ° C in June / July and 11 ° C from November to March (see climate diagram Uncía). The annual precipitation is 370 mm and falls mainly in the summer months, the arid period with monthly values of a maximum of 10 mm lasts from April to October.
Transport network
Cutimarca is located at a distance of 139 kilometers by road southeast of Oruro , the capital of the neighboring Oruro department .
From Oruro, the paved road Ruta 1 leads south 22 kilometers via Vinto to Machacamarquita , eight kilometers north of Machacamarca .
In Machacamarquita, the route 6 branches off in a south-easterly direction and reaches the city of Llallagua after 79 kilometers via Huanuni and over pass heights of more than 4,500 m . From there the Ruta 6 leads another seven kilometers to the provincial capital Uncía . Here a dirt road branches off to the east, reaches Chayanta after seventeen kilometers and continues in a north-easterly direction to Colloma . Eleven kilometers after Chayanta, a short side road leads south to Cutimarca .

Due to the historical population development, the region has a high proportion of Quechua population, in the municipality of Chayanta 95.5 percent of the population speak the Quechua language.
