Cyril Pedrosa
Cyril Pedrosa (born November 22, 1972 in Poitiers ) is a French - Portuguese comic book writer , graphic artist and illustrator . In Germany it is published by Reprodukt .
Life
Pedrosa was born to Portuguese parents in the French city of Poitiers. He studied illustration at the Gobelins School of Art in Paris. He then worked as an animator for Walt Disney Animation Studios in Paris, a. a. in films like The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) or Hercules (1997) . From 1998 Pedrosa worked with David Chauvel on several volumes of the Ring Circus series and created the children's series Brigade Fantôme and, from 2004, the Shaolin Moussaka series with him .
With Les Coeurs Solitaires , Pedrosa began to publish works that were entirely self-made in 2006. His breakthrough came in 2007 with the graphic novel Trois ombres , which appeared in Germany in 2008 as "Drei Schatten".
Since then, his works have appeared in a number of languages, in addition to French, in particular in English, Portuguese, Spanish and German. He has also contributed to a large number of international publications, in German-speaking countries, for example, in Rappelkopf in Austria . He is also one of the authors of the comics that have appeared on the last page of the German-language edition of Le Monde diplomatique since 2005 .
Pedrosa has received a number of international awards for Trois ombres , for his autobiographical comic Autobio and in particular for his autobiographically inspired graphic novel Portugal .

Pedrosa has also been invited to various literary festivals, such as the International Literature Festival Berlin 2014 in Germany .
