The Danish Ice Hockey Cup 2008/09 was the 10th edition of the Danish Cup competition since 1997 . The event is organized by the Danish Ice Hockey Federation.
Participant and mode
All teams in the previous year's first Danish league and others in the 1st division took part in the 2008/09 Danish Cup. The lower class teams had to qualify for games against the higher class teams. The two qualifiers met the last two in the previous year's final table, but could not prevail and missed the quarter-finals, where the first division clubs stayed among themselves. Only in the quarter-finals were the comparisons made with the return leg.
Preliminary round
In the preliminary round, the teams of the 1st division played in tournament mode each against two participants for the quarter-finals qualification games.

qualification
There were four qualifying games for the quarterfinals, with the winner from Game 1 in the quarterfinals against the winner from Game 4; the winner of game 2 in the sequence was Herning Blue Fox and the winner of game 3 was SønderjyskE Ishockey.
