The Holzminde drought is an 8.7 km long right or eastern tributary of the Holzminde in the Holzminden district in Lower Saxony ( Germany ).

The Holzminde drought rises in the northern part of the Solling just under 2 km south-southeast of Mühlenberg and around 2 km north of Silberborn (southeastern districts of Holzminden ; distances as the crow flies ) on the 484.6  m high Langenberg. Its source is located on the southwest slope of the wooded mountain at 452  m above sea level. NN .

As a low mountain stream with a typical floodplain landscape, the Holzminde drought flows in a north-westerly direction along the B 497 , which runs in a south-east-north-west direction and connects Neuhaus im Solling via Mühlenberg with Holzminden, through the wooded mountain and valley landscape of the " State Forest Holzminden". In its valley the stream runs through Mühlenberg.

Finally, the Holzminde drought reaches the town of Holzminden, where it is about 2 km after the Hasselbach flows into it, directly east or above the "Upper Pond" at 101  m above sea level. NN flowing from the east flows into the Holzminde coming from the southeast, which reaches the Weser below or to the west of the city .
