course
The Hasselbach arises in the northern part of the Solling low mountain range just under 2.4 km (as the crow flies ) north-northwest of the Großer Ahrensberg through the confluence of two source streams that drain the swampy forest areas Rohrbruch and Hundebruch . Its origin is a little south of the settlement Schießhaus (southern district of Deensen ) at the Waldmühle at about 365 m above sea level. NN .
As a low mountain stream with a typical floodplain landscape, the Hasselbach flows mostly in a westerly direction along the Schießhäuser Straße, which connects the Schießhaus with Holzminden as a winding economic road that is closed to public transport , through the wooded mountains and valleys of the Holzminden state forest Shooting house . It is fed, for example, by the Nagelbach coming from the southeast and numerous springs or short streams , which favors the year-round water flow of the Hasselbach. Niemanns Villa is located near the mouth of the Nagelbach .
Above Holzminden, the Hasselbach is dammed into a small pond, from which an underground canal led to a former wood goods factory, where the water was used to generate energy until the 1970s.
Finally, the stream reaches Holzminden, where it finally comes from the southeast in the eastern district of Pipping shortly before reaching the federal road 497 at around 140 m above sea level. NN flows into the Holzminde tributary Dürre Holzminde flowing there from the south-southeast .
