The steam locomotive of the class 99.01, Pts 2/2 of the Pfalzbahn was a one-off and was manufactured by the Maffei company in Munich .
history
In 1916 the Royal Bavarian State Railroad procured a B-coupler from Maffei for their narrow-gauge lines on the left bank of the Rhine in the Vorderpfalz . When it was delivered, the locomotive was given a number of the Palatinate Railway (XXX) and the generic name Pts 2/2 . It was not until 1925 that the locomotive was given the number 99 011 when it was taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn and was listed as class B h2t . It was assigned to the Neustadt-Haardt BW and retired in 1931.
construction
frame
The locomotives had a riveted sheet metal box frame. The water tank - a Krauss frame water tank - was located within the frame. The frame had transverse reinforcements on the drawbar and buffer beam.
boiler
The locomotives had a single-section, riveted long boiler, and the steam dome with a spring-balance safety valve was located on the front part. The boiler pressure was 12 atm
control
External Heusinger control with piston valve. The control block lies on the frame box.
brake
Suction air brakes of the Körting type and throw lever brakes were installed.
construction
The high-lying boiler and the frame designed as a water tank were striking. The coals were carried in two containers on the left and right in front of the driver's cab .
Stocks
The locomotive carried 1.7 m³ of water in the frame water box and 0.6 t of coal in two containers on both sides in front of the driver's cab in the area of the standing boiler.
