The department is located in the south of the country. It consists of the rural communities of Albarkaram , Damagaram Takaya , Guidimouni , Mazamni , Moa and Wamé . The eponymous capital of the department is Damagaram Takaya.

history

The department goes back to the administrative post ( poste administratif ) of Damagaram Takaya, which was established in 1964. In 2011 the administrative post was removed from the Mirriah department and raised to the Damagaram Takaya department.

population

Damagaram Takaya Department has 119,790 inhabitants according to the 2012 census. From 2001 to 2012, the population increased by an average of 4.7% annually (nationwide: 3.9%).
