Dan-Goulbi (also: Dan Goulbi ) is a rural community in the Dakoro Department in Niger .

geography

Dan-Goulbi is located at the transition from the Sudan to the Sahel zone . The neighboring communities are Ourno in the north, Sabon-Machi in the east, Guidan Roumdji in the south and Bangui in the west. The municipality is divided into 53 administrative villages, five traditional villages, 43 hamlets and 16 camps. The main town of the rural community is the administrative village of Dan-Goulbi (also: Dan Goulbi), which is located on the northern bank of the Wadi Goulbi N'Kaba.

history

The rural community of Dan-Goulbi emerged from the southwestern part of the canton of Kornaka in 2002 as part of a nationwide administrative reform .

population

At the 2001 census, Dan-Goulbi had 31,918 residents. At the 2012 census, the population was 57,228.

politics

In the local elections in July 2004, Inoussa Ousmane ( PNDS-Tarayya ) was elected mayor. On April 15, 2010 the Council of Ministers appointed Sani Salaou administrator ( Administrateur Délégué ) of the municipalities of Adjékoria , Dan-Goulbi, Kornaka , Maïyara and Sabon-Machi.

Economy and Infrastructure

The municipality is mainly located in an area in which rain-fed agriculture predominates. In the west begins the zone of irrigated farming .
