Daniëlle van de Donk (born August 5, 1991 in Valkenswaard ) is a Dutch soccer player who has played for Arsenal since 2015 and in the Dutch women's national soccer team since 2010 .
Career
societies
After her youth with sv Valkenswaard and VV UNA in her home region, van de Donk played at the age of 16 with Willem II in the Eredivisie since 2008 . When the association closed the women's department in 2011 for financial reasons, she switched to VVV-Venlo . When the new women's team at PSV / FC Eindhoven was set up in 2012 , they returned to Brabant for three years .
After switching to Gothenburg FC in the summer of 2015 , she joined Arsenal Women FC in London in November 2015. There she has already extended her contract several times, most recently in March 2019 when she signed a "longer-term contract". During this time she won numerous titles with Arsenal Women FC, such as the FA Women's Cup 2015/16 , the FA Women's League Cup 2017/18 and the English Championship in the 2018/19 season .
National teams
With the U-17 team of the Netherlands, she took part in the qualification for the U-17 European Women's Football Championship in 2008 . The first round at a mini-tournament in Poland was won by the group, in the second round in the Czech Republic it was only enough to place 2 behind England. This ended her time in the U-17 team and she switched to the U-19 for which she played six games.
She made her first international match for the senior national team on December 15, 2010 in a friendly against Mexico . The following March she was used at the Cyprus Cup 2011 6-0 against Switzerland . Your team then reached the final, but lost it 1: 2 after extra time against Canada . Before the 2011 World Cup, for which the Netherlands had not qualified, the team was opponents of some World Cup participants, including a. for North Korea and Canada, where van de Donk was used. From autumn 2011 she was used in two qualifying games for the EM 2013, which the Dutch women finished the following summer one point behind the English women. Second place was enough for the Dutch women to qualify directly, as they achieved the most points of all runners-up in the group. At the Cyprus Cup 2013 , in which the Dutch took 6th place and in preparation for the European Championship , she was also used. She was then also nominated for the EM, where she participated in the three group games. The Dutch women failed as the bottom of the group and were the only team unable to score a goal.
From September 2013 it was used in the qualifying games for the 2015 World Cup. For the Cyprus Cup 2014 it was not taken into account. In September 2014, the World Cup qualification was finished in second place behind Norway. The Dutch women therefore had to go to the playoffs of the four best runners-up in the group and prevailed against Scotland and Italy , qualifying for the World Cup for the first time. At the Cyprus Cup 2015 , the qualifications could not be confirmed and they lost z. B. the game for 7th place against the Scottish women, who they had eliminated in the World Cup playoffs. On April 15, 2015 she was initially appointed to the provisional squad for the 2015 World Cup and then to the final squad on May 10.
In 2017 van de Donk took part in the European Women's Championship again and even won it with the Dutch national team. She was also nominated for the subsequent World Cup in 2019 , played all seven games and only lost to the US national team in the final with the Netherlands .
On October 8, 2019, she made her 100th international match in the European Championship qualifier against Russia and scored the 1-0 opening goal .
