Daniel Batalha Henriques (born March 30, 1966 in Santo Isidoro , Mafra County , Portugal ) is a Portuguese clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop of Lisbon .

Life

Daniel Batalha Henriques studied philosophy at the Episcopal Boys' Seminar in São Paulo in Almada from 1982 and Catholic theology at the Catholic University of Portugal in Lisbon from 1983 . In 1986, Batalha Henriques entered the Cristo Rei dos Olivais seminary in Lisbon. He was ordained a deacon on December 3, 1989 . On July 1, 1990, Daniel Batalha Henriques finally received the sacrament of ordination in the Church of the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos .

Then Batalha Henriques worked at the Episcopal Boys' Seminary in São Paulo in Almada. In 1992 he also became a member of the Council of Priests of the Patriarchate of Lisbon. From 1997 to 2005 Daniel Batalha Henriques was pastor of the parishes of Nossa Senhora Rainha dos Apóstolos in Ramada and Nossa Senhora do Rosário in Famões . He was also a member of the diocesan commission for the permanent diaconate from 1997 and regional vicar of the Loures Vicariate from 1999 . Batalha Henriques became pastor of the parish of Cristo Rei in Algés in 2005 and pastor of the parish of Senhor dos Aflitos in Cruz Quebrada - Dafundo in 2010 .

From 2012 to 2016 he was spiritual at the Cristo Rei dos Olivais seminary in Lisbon and director of the Serviço de Animação Missionária do Patriarcado de Lisboa , before becoming pastor of the parishes of São Pedro e São Tiago and Santa Maria e São Miguel in Torres Vedras in 2016 . In 2017 Daniel Batalha Henriques also became pastor of the parish Nossa Senhora da Oliveira in Matacães and dean of the dean's office in Loures-Divelas.

On 13 October 2018 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Aquae Thibilitanae and auxiliary bishop of Lisbon. The Patriarch of Lisbon, Manuel Cardinal Clemente , donated him episcopal ordination on November 25th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Porto , Manuel da Silva Rodrigues Linda , and the Bishop of Santarém , José Augusto Traquina Maria .
