Daniel "Danny" Flaherty (born June 11, 1993 in Glen Rock , New Jersey ) is an American actor . He gained fame primarily through his roles in the series Skins and The Americans .

life and career

Daniel Flaherty is from New Jersey, where he grew up as the youngest of five children of a businessman and a dental hygienist. He attended Glen Rock High School in his hometown. While his siblings took up professions in music, fashion and directing, he became interested in acting at an early age. At the age of 12 he first appeared in front of the camera for the short film My First Kiss . After further appearances in short films, he took part in a casting in New York for the series Skins . After successful audition, he was cast in the role of Stanley Lucerne in the series in Torontowas filmed. During the series shoot, he received one-to-one tuition and began, in addition to acting, to write songs and skateboarding with it. When he was sixth graders at the time, he founded the band MF Killer Starfish .

After the series ended, he appeared in guest roles on Criminal Intent and Unforgettable . In 2012 he was part of the ensemble of voices for the animated film Ice Age 4 - Fully Postponed and also played a small role in Rom Com Like the first time . In 2013 he played one of the leading roles as Tommy Dolen in the drama comedy Contest and also acted as Zip in a small role in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street . In 2013 he played a minor supporting role as Danny in the series Nurse Jackie . After appearances in Unrelated and The Leftovers , he appeared in the films Annie and King Jack . In 2015 he played the role of Robin in the romantic comedy Naomi & Ely - Love, Friendship and everything in between . In 2016 he played the role of Will in the film drama Goat .

From 2013 to 2017 he was Flaherty as Matthew Beeman on the cast of the drama series The Americans . In 2017 he appeared as Marcus in Noah Baumbach's tragic comedy The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) . He took on other series roles in Eye Candy , The Night Of - The Truth of a Night , Instinct and The Deuce . Flaherty is represented by the Shirley Grant Management agency and lives in New York City.
