Daniel Joseph Miehm (born August 27, 1960 in Kitchener , Ontario , Canada ) is a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic Bishop of Peterborough .

Life

Daniel Miehm studied among others at the University of Waterloo Catholic theology and received on 6 May 1989 in the Christ the King Cathedral of Hamilton , the sacrament of the priesthood for the Diocese of Hamilton . At the Angelicum in Rome he obtained a licentiate in canon law . After various pastoral activities in the diocese of Hamilton, he was most recently pastor at the newly founded parish of St. Benedict in Milton since June 2012 .

On February 20, 2013, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . as titular bishop of Gor and auxiliary bishop in Hamilton. He received his episcopal ordination from the Bishop of Hamilton, David Douglas Crosby OMI , on May 7th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Richard William Smith , Archbishop of Edmonton , and Anthony Frederick Tonnos , Bishop Emeritus of Hamilton.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Peterborough on March 10, 2017 . The inauguration took place on April 19 of the same year.
