Danielle Proskar (born March 13, 1964 in Vienna ) is an Austrian film director , camerawoman and screenwriter .

Life

She completed her studies in 1995 in the subjects of directing and camera with Peter Patzak and Christian Berger at the Vienna Film Academy . From 1990 to 1992 she worked as a camera assistant for the ZDF's Southern Europe studio, among others in the war zones of the former Yugoslavia . In 1993 she worked as a puppeteer in the program with clown Habakuk on ORF children's television. Between 1993 and 1999 she worked again as a camera assistant and camerawoman for television plays, series and documentaries in Austria and Germany. She supported the work of Heide Pils , Peter Patzak, Peter Weck , Gero Erhardt and Ernst Trost .

Since 1996 she has been responsible for the concept and direction of industrial and image films , portraits and documentaries. In addition to ORF, her most important clients include Siemens , Pfizer , Baxter , McKinsey , Raiffeisen , Tyrolia , the Red Cross , the City of Vienna, the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the State of Lower Austria . 2003–2004 she directed 15 episodes of the ORF children's series Tom Turbo .

In 2005 she shot her first feature film, the family film Karo und der Liebe Gott , which premiered in Austrian cinemas in 2006. The film, whose screenplay Proskar himself wrote, was awarded the Prix ​​Camério for the best screenplay and the Prix ​​CIFEJ at the Rimouski Film Festival in Canada (the CIFEJ Prize has existed under the auspices of UNESCO and UNICEF since 1955 and is awarded for a film, who respects the dignity and rights of children in the world). In addition, the film was also rated “highly recommended” by the Austrian Youth Media Commission . She shot portraits of Leon Askin (2002, camera), Franz Weiss (editor) and Gideon Singer (director and editor 2006).
