Daniel "Danny" Bernard Bank (* 17th July 1922 in New York City ; † 5. June 2010 ibid) is an American jazz - baritone saxophonist , clarinetist and flutist. He played in the Gil Evans Orchestra with Miles Davis .

At the beginning of his musical career Danny Bank played with Charlie Barnet 1942-44, Benny Goodman 1945, Jimmy Dorsey and Paul Whiteman 1946/47, then with Artie Shaw 1949/50, Tommy Dorsey 1950/51 and again with Barnet. In the 1950s, Bank worked in New York mainly as a studio musician; He was then engaged as an ensemble player in many big band productions, such as recordings by Charlie Parker , Dizzy Gillespie 1954/55, Rex Stewart , the Sauter-Finegan Orchestra , at Cannonball Adderley , Urbie Green , Clifford Brown and Helen Merrill , Art Farmer , Wes Montgomery , Quincy Jones , Jimmy Smith , Chico O'Farrill , Tony Fruscella and Gigi Gryce ( Nica's Tempo , 1955).
