Danny Lorenz (born December 12, 1969 in Murrayville , British Columbia ) is a former Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who played in the National Hockey League for the New York Islanders and in the German Ice Hockey League for the Adler Mannheim .
Career
The 1.78 m tall goalie began his career with the Seattle Thunderbirds in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League before he was selected ( drafted ) in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft as 58th in the third round .
The left catcher completed his first NHL missions for the Islanders in the 1990/91 season , previously he had been used in various farm teams in the American Hockey League and the East Coast Hockey League . In the following years, the goalkeeper was repeatedly on the ice in a few season games for New York, but it was never enough for him to become a regular goalkeeper, so that he finally only played in the lower-tier International Hockey League . At the beginning of the 98/99 season, Lorenz joined the Mannheim Eagles. However, Lorenz could not convince either in the DEL or in European Cup games, the Eagles made up his contract * and so he switched back to North America during the current season, where he played again in various minor leagues . Once again, the Canadian returned to Europe, where he stood between the posts for the Nottingham Panthers in the British Ice Hockey Superleague and for the Guildford Flames and Newcastle Vipers in the National League . Lorenz ended his career in 2004 with the New Mexico Scorpions in the US Minor League CHL .
