Daryush Valizadeh (* 1979 in Maryland ) (also: Roosh V. ) is an American blogger , masculinist , pickup artist and author . He self-publishes books that give men tips on how to have sex with women in different countries.

Life

His parents are Iranian or Armenian immigrants. Valizadeh studied microbiology at the University of Maryland .

Positions

rape

Valizadeh represents a normative gender concept that partially legitimizes male violence against women.

In February 2015, Valizadeh published an article on his site suggesting legalizing rape on private property. According to Valizadeh, if rape were only a criminal offense in public places, then a woman would protect her body like “her wallet or her smartphone” and would never be without a man with whom she does not want to have sex. In his opinion, this is the way to stop rape.

On February 6, 2016, he called on his Return of Kings page for an international "Meet-Up-Day", which according to Valizadeh should take place in 43 countries. On the day, men around the world who feel addressed by his ideas and statements such as his demand for impunity from rape, meet and exchange ideas. Valizadeh wanted to draw attention to an alleged responsibility of women not to be raped and to allow rape on private property. Valizadeh has banned women as well as transsexual and gay men from attending the meetings. Protests were announced by various groups. Valizadeh announced that he would take pictures of female protesters so that they could later post their photos on the Internet.

Valizadeh wanted to be in Australia that day. The Department of Immigration monitors its activities on the instructions of Immigration Minister Peter Dutton . His followers planned "tribal meetings" in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth that day. Valizadeh announced that he would travel to Australia with his yacht from Indonesia or East Timor . However, because he could not guarantee the security and privacy of the men taking part, he canceled his visit to Australia the day before.

Supporters announced seven meetings in Germany in Aachen, Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Munich, Nuremberg and Würzburg.

feminism

In March 2012, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) counted Valizadeh's blog as one of the most misogynistic sites on the Internet aimed at targeting women, especially US women and feminists . There, he boasts, among others, with his sexual conquests and writes about "American cunts who I want to hate fuck" (dt. "American pussies who wants I hate fuck"). In an interview with a The Washington Times project, he claimed feminism left weak, androgynous men as a legacy .

Valizadeh believes that a "rape hysteria " rule and white, heterosexual men would treated like criminals and systematically discriminated against. The “feminism and gender mafia” is to blame for this .

Judaism

In May 2015, Valizadeh published an article on his online platform Return of Kings with the title “The Damaging Effects Of Jewish Intellectualism And Activism” ( Eng .: “The harmful effects of Jewish intellectualism and activism”). In the article he quotes in detail from a book by Kevin B. MacDonald , in which, among other things, the thesis is put forward that Jews are involved in many left-wing political movements and have thus harmed Western culture. Valizadeh sees feminism as a Jewish idea and the majority of what he criticizes in Western culture was initiated by Jewish intellectual movements. The Anti-Defamation League described Valizadeh's article as a mixture of misogyny and anti-Semitism .

Return of Kings

In 2012 he founded the online portal Return of Kings . Return of Kings is considered one side of the American men's rights movement . There he and other bloggers write about "neo-masculine" and related topics, addressing a heterosexual male audience, wanting to bring back the masculine manhood in the understanding of Valizadeh and sees men as inferior in the gender war.

The site describes itself as a "blog for straight, masculine men". Women and homosexuals are strongly discouraged from expressing their views on the site (“Women and homosexuals are strongly discouraged from commenting here”).

In May 2015, Return of Kings called for a boycott of the film Mad Max: Fury Road . The actress Charlize Theron had spoken a lot in the cinema trailer, which is why the film was "feminist propaganda" that only appeared to be a male film. In December 2015, Return of Kings participated in a boycott of the movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens . The reason given was that the main roles were occupied by a woman and a black man. Return of Kings later claimed that the film took in $ 4.2 million less because of the boycott.

reception

Some of his theses and statements are described as anti-feminist .
