action

Walter Mitty works as an editor at Pierce Publishing, a publisher of horror novels. He is a well-protected mother’s boy. Mother Eunice reads every wish from his lips, but restricts his development very much. It is the same with his imperious girlfriend Gertrude. However, Walter is a coward in life and does not know how to escape the ladies. Only in his daydreams does Walter become a hero and experience the most daring adventures. Bruce Pierce is Walter's boss and uses Walter's dreams and ideas in the stories he publishes. Walter's life becomes more complicated when he begins to be unable to tell his dreams and reality apart. When he falls in love with the attractive Rosalind, he can only defeat his adversary Tubby Wadsworth in his dreams. When he actually gets caught up in a crime story, he can finally save Rosalind. The gangsters are arrested, Walter wins Rosalind's heart and the respect of his fellow men.

Reviews

“The editor of a publishing house for horror novels, a shy mother's boy, climbs between dream and reality in daring love and crime adventures that almost bring him to a madhouse. Grotesque comedy based very freely on a story by James Thurber with humor, depth and Danny Kaye in a bombshell. "
