occupation

The Secret of the Four Crown Jewels is an adventure film with fantasy elements from 1982, which was produced internationally in 3D and based on the success of the film Raiders of the Lost Ark . It is the last film work of the main actor and producer Tony Anthony - as is so often the case with screenwriter Lloyd Battista and director Ferdinando Baldi .

action

Professor Montgomery engages the adventurer JT Striker to steal ancient crowns that the fanatical sect leader Brother Jonas keeps in his fortress-like property, which is equipped with all kinds of technical safeguards. It is said that the good and bad powers were trapped in the crowns by the Visigoths hundreds of years ago.

In order to be able to carry out the job, the keys to the crowns must first be fetched from a castle, which is also associated with numerous dangerous moments. The professor and striker find support from Edmund and Liz. Together they manage to defeat the megalomaniac brother Jonas and his followers and to destroy the two crowns in order to protect the world from the abuse of their power.

background

The film was released on video both in 3D technology (sometimes called "Wonder Vision", sometimes "Supervision") and flat .

After everything is flying around your ears from 1981, it was the second three-dimensional production by the Anthony-Battista-Quintano-Baldi team.

criticism

"A stupid, quite confused Spielberg plagiarism from the house of" Cannon ", which seeks its salvation in excessively displayed 3-D frills."

- Dictionary of fantasy films

"Very superficial and clichéd adventure film, which offers nothing new in the presentation of three-dimensional effects."
