The film is four acts long . It was produced by Meinert-Film Bürstein & Janak Berlin (No. 107). The film went through the censorship in December 1916. The Berlin police imposed a youth ban (No. 40211), the Munich police did not allow any announcement as a detective film (No. 23482, 23483, 23484, 23485). The first performance took place on January 12, 1917 in the Tauentzienpalast .
