Storytelling

The song The Dark Side of the Moon is a typical storytelling track. It's about a futuristic conspiracy theory that takes place after the colonization of the moon. Important secrets about extraterrestrial life and technologies are withheld from people.

“[…] I just read a lot about it from different people and tried to find a theory that - in my opinion - makes everything plausible, i.e. how it could actually be. [...] And the distances between what you can develop and the reality that then comes into play is getting smaller and smaller. Therefore it was clear to me that I also had to do something that had to do with space travel, but had to do with this real objection that not everything is as one might want us to believe. "

Criticism of religion

No end in sight emerged after the terrorist attacks on September 11th and deals with religious conflicts.

“ But now there is no end in sight , a song that breaks free from this storytelling style and falls back on hard facts. I try to incorporate all possible perspectives on this topic into my text. My point of view here from Germany, the point of view of the USA, but also the impressions of the Arab nations and the views of some church leaders. With this I create a historical background that should grab the listener. "

Guest Posts

The rapper Harris from the hip-hop group Spezializtz

The album contains guest contributions, so-called features , by a total of nine artists. On the track Wir sind ... the rappers Gianni, the Ventura Brothers and Nesti, all from their own label La CosaMia , as well as Da Fource, Spezializtz and Capkeks are represented. Die Firma had already been on tour with the Spezializtz , so a joint collaboration was an obvious choice. Da Fource got to know the group through contact with the Ventura Brothers. With Afrob , whom they knew from old freestyle battles in Munich and Stammheim , the hectic track arose . The collaboration was already planned for the previous album The Second Chapter , but it did not work out. Def Benski commented on the selection of the guest contributions to be found on the third album in an interview as follows: "With the features, it was simply important to us that this time we just take guys with whom we get along personally."

The album's Die Firma logo

The cover is in comic style and shows the three rappers from a frog's perspective . One depicts a samurai holding a samurai sword, the other depicts a businessman with a pistol, and the third holds an iron chain and is dressed like a prison inmate. The background shows a moon, a cloudless sky and a skyline. The characters and buildings are blue and the background is red. The company logo is in the top left corner.

“With John Cassidy, who does Planetary , we looked for someone who suits us. This is also a magazine that fits us perfectly visually and in terms of content, because it simply deals with conspiracy theories. So we just said to ourselves that we would look for one of the most recognized comic artists of the moment and let him do the cover for us. That was the next step when it came to cover. "

“The company is back and has sworn off the overloaded sounds of the 'second chapter'. Certainly an album that will satisfy both old and new fans alike. "

On the website laut.de the album was rated four out of five possible points. Furthermore, the author Stefan Johannesberg wrote:

"The three members [...] consistently continue their path of the previous discs, mostly sticking to the questioning storytelling and the bombastic beats. […] In general, this time it was not the beats of Fader Gladiator that were the 'eye-catchers' of the album, but the lyrical and flow technical development of the two Emcees really makes your heart beat faster. "

marketing

Videos

A music video was shot for the song No End in Sight , directed by Oliver Sommer .

“We didn't want to make any frills. You shouldn't make a video where the song sells itself through the video, but rather the video should at most underline the text. The text is clearly in the foreground, the music has moved completely into the background. "
