Daudere ( Daudare ) is an East Timorese village and the Suco surrounding it in the Lautém administrative office ( Lautém municipality ).

The place

Daudere is located at 253  m above sea level on the eastern bank of the Raumoco River , on the eastern border of the Sucos. Here the Builui flows from Maina II into the Raumoco. The neighboring towns of Anarua , Uanamibere , Vassatoi ( Vasotoi ), Sagueli ( Squeli ), Nassuloi ( Nassalue ) and Samaira and a little further north, the villages Macalodo ( Makalodo ) and Aelafa also belong to the settlement center . The settlement center has a medical post and a primary school.

The Suco Daudere has 1677 inhabitants (2015), of which 849 are men and 828 women. The population density is 30.5 inhabitants / km². There are 330 households in the Suco. Over 97% of the population name Makasae as their mother tongue. Minorities speak Fataluku or Tetum Prasa .

Daudere is to the west of the Lautém administrative office. The Raumoco River crosses the Suco until it flows into the Wetar Strait . To the west of the Buiguira river lies the Suco Euquisi , to the east the Sucos Serelau and Maina II and to the south the administrative office of Luro with its Suco Afabubu . The northern coastal road, one of the most important traffic routes in the country, also runs along the Dauderes coast and crosses the Raumoco and the western border river via two bridges. At the mouth of the Raumoco is the village of Raumoco ( Raumaco ), which has a primary school.

Before the 2015 regional reform, Daudere had an area of ​​36.09 km². Now there are 54.91 km², because Daudere received the south of the Sucos Serelau and parts of the administrative office of Luro. Daudere gave Serelau areas in the northeast, including the village of Lailaovemuti .

In Daudere there are the eight Aldeias Aelafa , Anarua , Macalodo , Nassuloi , Sagueli , Samaira , Uanambere and Vassatoi .

history

In 2015, while a house was being built on Raumoco, a bronze drum of the Dong Son culture from what is now Vietnam was discovered . The 80 kg heavy and approximately 2000 year old artifact is one of the best preserved of only about 20 bronze drums that were found along the ancient shipping lanes in Southeast Asia. The drum has a diameter of 103 cm and a height of 78 cm. Its surface is decorated with a twelve-pointed star, and four small frog sculptures sit on the edge. The drum is to be examined further in France and later exhibited in the National Museum of East Timor.

politics

In the elections of 2004/2005 was Fernando Horacio elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Aderito Morais won .
