Maina II ( Maina 2 ) is an East Timorese village and its surrounding Suco in the Lautém administrative office ( Lautém municipality ).

The Ort and Suco Maina I , which also belong to the Lautém administrative office, are located northeast of Maina II.

The place

Maina II is located at an altitude of 336  m . It is located in the northeast of the sucos. Together with the directly neighboring towns of Cirata , Codo and Lereira , Maina II forms a settlement center. There are two primary schools and a medical station here.

The Suco Maina II has 1951 inhabitants (2015), of which 940 are men and 1011 women. The population density is 29.8 inhabitants / km². There are 401 households in the Suco. Almost 80% of the population list Fataluku as their mother tongue. Almost 12.5% ​​speak Sa'ane , over 6% Makasae , minorities Tetum Prasa .

The Suco is located in the southern center of the Lautém administrative office. Like Maina I, unlike the other sucos of the administrative office, it has no access to the sea. In the northeast lies the Suco Baduro and in the northwest the Sucos Serelau and Daudere . The Raumoco River forms the major part of the southwest border to the administrative office Luro with its sucos Wairoque , Cotamutu and Luro . Across the Malailada River is the Lospalos administrative office with its Sucos Home , Leuro and Cacavei . At the southern tip of Maina II, the Malailada divides into its two headwaters. To the west and east they wash around the northern tip of the administrative office of Iliomar and its Suco Fuat . In the north of Maina II the river Builui rises , which flows to the west and finally flows into the Raumoco. In the center are the mountains of Monte Laleno , which rise to 713  m . The Roumoco River , which also flows west into the Raumoco, has its source here. Before the 2015 regional reform, Maina II had an area of ​​61.27 km². Now it is 65.37 km² because the borders to Daudere, Serelau and Baduro have been moved.

The place Laicara ( Laikara ) is located in the extreme north of the Sucos . South of Monte Laleno, in the southwest of Sucos, lies the village of Tamaro Lama . In the extreme south of Maina II is the village of Ailarino , which also has a primary school. For the places Queduloro ( Keduluro ) and Lereado there is different information about their location. On the one hand, they should belong directly to the Maina II settlement center, on the other hand, Queduloro should be located a little further west and Lereado northwest of Maina II.
