The Suco is located in the northern center of the Lautém administrative office. In the northeast is the Suco Baduro , in the southeast Maina II and southwest of the Suco Daudere . Before the 2015 regional reform, Serelau had an area of 38.23 km². Now there are 24.93 km², as it had to give up its southern territory, which reached as far as the administrative office of Luro , to Daudere. In return Serelau received from Daudere some areas on the northern western border, including the settlement of Lailaovemuti .
On the coast are the villages of Buihomau and Adavari ( Adawari ) with a preparatory school for the secondary level. At Buihomau, a well-developed road branches off from the northern coastal road, which is one of the main traffic routes in the country, which divides into two branches. One leads through Daudere and the other through Maina II before they reunite in Afabubu and lead to Luro .
The three Aldeias Adavari , Poruvari and Ra'ano are located in Serelau .
