Baduro is an East Timorese village and the suco surrounding it in the Lautém administrative office ( Lautém municipality ).

The place

The place Baduro is located in the southwest of the Sucos at an altitude of 236  m . The villages of Malailada , Luadau ( Luandau ), Irapala ( Ira Pala , Irafala ), Luculomano and Lakulomano are located near the town of Baduro . These places are close together. In this settlement center there are two primary schools and a medical station.

The Suco has 977 inhabitants (2015), 480 men and 497 women. The population density is 22.3 inhabitants / km². There are 174 households in the Suco. Almost 97% of the population name Fataluku as their mother tongue. Minorities speak Tetum Prasa , Makasae or Sa'ane .

Baduro is on the north coast of Timor on the Strait of Wetar . In the west it borders on the Sucos Serelau and Maina II . The Malailada River forms the eastern border . On the other side are the Sucos Pairara , Maina I and the administrative office of Lospalos with its Sucos Raça and Home . Before the 2015 regional reform, Baduro had an area of ​​45.26 km². Now there are 45.83 km², because the border to Maina II was slightly moved.

The villages of Hataman , Malaecada and Tamaro are located near the north coast . At Tamaro there is a bridge over the Malailada to the east. A small river also flows into the Wetar Strait west of the village. There is a preschool in Tamaro.

In Baduro are the five Aldeias Irapala , Laculomano , Luadau , Malailada and Tamaro .

history

Malailada was home to the historical empire of Sarau , which in the municipality of Lautém was one of the dominant empires of the region in the 18th and 19th centuries.

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Albaro da Costa was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Anacleto Fernandes Xavier won .
