David Hollander

David Hollander (born May 16, 1968 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania ) is an American screenwriter , television director and producer who was nominated for an Emmy .

Life and work

He devised, written, and produced the Pittsburgh-based CBS court drama The Guardian . Simon Baker plays the leading role . He also created the short-lived TNT series Heartland and has been the showrunner of the long-running series Ray Donovan since season three . He'd been co-executive producer on the show since season one, taking on the showrunner job from series creator Ann Biderman . He directed the 2009 film Stronger Together - Personal Effects, starring Michelle Pfeiffer , Ashton Kutcher and Kathy Bates .

David Hollander was active in the Screenwriting Masters program at the University of Southern California from 1995 to 2000 .

Hollander is an alumnus of Northwestern University in Chicago .
