David John James Monroe (born April 14, 1941 in Vancouver , British Columbia , Canada ) is a Canadian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Kamloops .

Life

David Monroe received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Vancouver on May 20, 1967 .

On January 5, 2002, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Kamloops. The Archbishop of Vancouver, Adam Joseph Exner OMI , donated him episcopal ordination on March 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Victoria , Raymond Roussin SM , and the Archbishop of Regina , Peter Joseph Mallon . The inauguration took place on March 18, 2002.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on June 1, 2016.
