Adam Joseph Exner OMI (born December 24, 1928 in Killaly ) is Old Archbishop of Vancouver .

Life

Adam Exner joined the order of the Huenfeld Oblates and was ordained a priest on July 7, 1957 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on January 16, 1974 Bishop of Kamloops . The Archbishop of Grouard-McLennan , Henri Légaré OMI, donated him episcopal ordination on March 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were James Francis Carney , Archbishop of Vancouver and Charles Aimé Halpin , Archbishop of Regina . The inauguration in the Diocese of Kamloops took place on March 28 of the same year.

He was named Archbishop of Winnipeg on March 31, 1982 and inducted into office on June 23 of the same year. On May 25, 1991, he was named Archbishop of Vancouver. On January 10, 2004, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
