Charles Aimé Halpin

Charles Aimé Halpin (born August 30, 1930 in Saint-Eustache , Manitoba , Canada , † April 16, 1994 in Regina , Saskatchewan ) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Regina .

Life

Charles Aimé Halpin studied Philosophy and Catholic Theology at St. Boniface Seminary . He received the Saint-Eustache on May 27, 1956 sacrament of Holy Orders . In 1958 Halpin was sent to Rome for further studies , where he obtained a licentiate in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University in 1960 . Charles Aimé Halpin then worked in the archiepiscopal chancellery and in the official office of the Archdiocese of Winnipeg . Halpin was also a member of the Canadian Canon Law Society .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on September 24, 1973 . to the Archbishop of Regina. The Archbishop of Winnipeg, George Bernard Cardinal Flahiff CSB , donated him episcopal ordination on November 26 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Toronto , Philip Francis Pocock , and the Archbishop of Saint-Boniface , Maurice Baudoux . The inauguration took place on December 12, 1973.
