David O'Hara

David Patrick O'Hara (born July 9, 1965 in Glasgow , Scotland ) is a Scottish film and theater actor .

Life

David O'Hara, son of Patrick and Martha O'Hara, grew up in a Roman Catholic family.

After graduating from compulsory school, he began touring from school to school as a member of a youth theater. In 1982, aged 17, O'Hara moved to London and studied for two semesters at the Central School of Speech and Drama . However, since he soon lacked the financial means, O'Hara returned to Scotland and appeared there for the first time in a professional theater. Now he has returned to Central to complete his training. At the beginning of the 1980s, O'Hara mainly worked on theater stages. He was also a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company for a year .

In 1984 he made his film debut in Comfort and Joy , a comedy film directed by Bill Forsyth . O'Hara only gained notoriety in 1995 when he played a supporting role in Braveheart , directed by Mel Gibson . Since then he has been in front of the camera in mainly British films, although he also took advantage of film offers from the USA. In 2006 he shot with film director Martin Scorsese when he played the supporting role of Fitzy in the film Departed .

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 , he played the role of Albert Runcorn , who Harry turns into after taking the polyjuice potion.

Today David O'Hara lives in Dublin .
