David Solga (born October 16, 1982 in Dortmund ) is a former German soccer player . He has been an assistant coach at Borussia Dortmund II since the 2017/18 season.
Career
Solga learned to play football at the Dortmund district association TuS Eving-Lindenhorst . As a teenager, he moved to local rivals and the then Westphalian national league club BV Brambauer .
His first position in the senior division was BV Brambauer, before he ran up in the 2002/03 season at local neighbor Lüner SV in the amateur league of Westphalia . For the 2003/04 season he joined the amateurs of Borussia Dortmund in the Regionalliga Nord . In the summer of 2007 he moved to SV Wacker Burghausen , with whom he was able to qualify for the new single-track 3rd division in the 2007/08 season as table seventh in the Regionalliga Süd . The league competitor Dynamo Dresden signed him for the 2009/10 season .
After several serious injuries - among other things, Solga suffered an open tibia and fibula fracture in the east derby against FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt on February 20, 2010 - he gave up exactly one year later in a 3-1 home win over SV Sandhausen his comeback in the starting XI. From then on, Solga became one of the team’s top performers and, with his decisive goals against Sandhausen and Bayern II, played a key role in ensuring that Dynamo Dresden reached third place in the table at the end of the 2010/11 season . His expiring contract was extended by two years in March 2011. In the 2011 relegation games to the 2nd Bundesliga , Solga with Dynamo Dresden was able to prevail against VfL Osnabrück . In 2013 he succeeded again with Dresden in the relegation victory against Osnabrück, which secured relegation in the 2nd Bundesliga. His contract expired and Solga returned to Borussia Dortmund's reserve.
Special games in his career were, on the one hand, the first round match in the 2007/08 DFB Cup against Bundesliga club FC Bayern Munich on August 6, 2007, when Solga came on in the 61st minute of the game and, with Wacker Burghausen, was only defeated by the eventual cup winner on penalties , the other in the first round of the Dynamo Dresden 30 July 2011 German Cup 2011/12 Bundesliga side Bayer 04 Leverkusen with 4: 3 defeated after extra time. Dresden only managed the goal to 1: 3 in the 68th minute and saved themselves in extra time, the winning goal fell in the 117th minute. Solga played the entire distance.
Remarkable
On October 4th, 2008, Solga was tested positive for the prohibited substance methylpseudoephedrine , which has a decongestant effect and is used for colds , as part of a doping control . At the subsequent main hearing before the DFB sports court , however, he was acquitted of all allegations, as the drug in question was demonstrably prescribed to him by the Burghausen team doctor at the time to combat an acute respiratory infection. However, the judges urged Solga to study the information leaflets for medications more carefully in future, even if they were administered by the club's doctor. Burghausen was fined 5,000 euros.
Private
Solga lives in Ense with his wife and child .
