David Wingeate Pike
David Wingeate Pike (born October 2, 1930 ; died June 20, 2020 ) was a British historian who worked in Paris.
Life
David Wingeate Pike attended Blundell's School in Devon , England. He graduated from McGill University in Montreal with a BA, from Universidad Interamericana in Mexico with an MA, received his doctorate from Toulouse University and received his doctorate from Ronald Hilton at Stanford University .
Pike was a professor at the American University of Paris (AUP) and taught at the American Graduate School of International Relations and Diplomacy in Paris . He published on the Spanish Civil War and the recent history of Spain. He researched the fugitive Spanish civil war fighters and their deportation to Mauthausen concentration camp . Together with Anne Farache, he wrote a study as emeritus about the Alderney concentration camp , in which Farache's father was imprisoned.
