Deborah Ann Woll (born February 7, 1985 in Brooklyn , New York ) is an American actress who is best known for her role in the series True Blood .

Woll is of Irish and German descent. She grew up in Brooklyn. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Southern California , where she earned her bachelor's degree in acting. Her mother is a history teacher.

Career

Woll played in various plays for ten years until she got her first television role in the series Life in 2007 . She then appeared in other guest roles, including in the series Emergency Room - Die Notaufnahme , CSI: On the trail of the perpetrators and My Name Is Earl . She is a former Vogue model .

She gained fame through the role of the vampire Jessica Hamby in the series True Blood , in which she was seen from 2008 to 2014.

After a small role in the television film Aces' n Eights in 2008, she first appeared in a leading role in the 2010 thriller Mother's Day . In the same year she shot the action film Catch .44 - The big coup alongside Bruce Willis , Forest Whitaker and Nikki Reed . From 2015 to 2018 she played the role of the cartoon character Karen Page in the Marvel series Marvel's Daredevil . She also took on this role in 2017 in Marvel's The Defenders and Marvel's The Punisher .
