Defying Gravity - Love in Space (Original title: Defying Gravity ) is an American science fiction - television series , in collaboration with the Canadian station CTV , the British broadcaster BBC Two and the German channel ProSieben was produced. The series is about a six year mission through our solar system and its astronauts and their professional and personal problems. The series is described as " Grey's Anatomy in Space". Due to poor audience ratings, the series was not extended for a second season.

In the year 2052, four men and four women will go on a multi-year mission through our solar system. The series takes place on two timeframes, one during the flight, the other during the five-year training of the crew. What none of the crew members know is that the mission has completely different goals than taking soil samples. Furthermore, the mission is complicated by secrets, relationships, intrigue, and history.

Charisma
The series started on August 2, 2009 on ABC and in Canada on CTV . However, after eight of thirteen episodes produced, both channels withdrew the series prematurely. While ABC offered the rest of the episodes online, the series switched from CTV to niche channel Space TV in Canada .
In Germany, ProSieben held the rights to the series and decided to show the series on station sixx . The episodes were broadcast there from October 7th to 29th, 2012. ProSieben repeated the series from October 11, 2012 in the night program.
In the meantime, myvideo.de, in cooperation with sixx, also owns the rights to the German version of the series and offers all 13 episodes in full length for viewing.
