Defying Gravity - Love in Space (Original title: Defying Gravity ) is an American science fiction - television series , in collaboration with the Canadian station CTV , the British broadcaster BBC Two and the German channel ProSieben was produced. The series is about a six year mission through our solar system and its astronauts and their professional and personal problems. The series is described as " Grey's Anatomy in Space". Due to poor audience ratings, the series was not extended for a second season.

action

In the year 2052, four men and four women will go on a multi-year mission through our solar system. The series takes place on two timeframes, one during the flight, the other during the five-year training of the crew. What none of the crew members know is that the mission has completely different goals than taking soil samples. Furthermore, the mission is complicated by secrets, relationships, intrigue, and history.

Zoe Barnes Laura Harris Stefanie von Lerchenfeld Geologist. During her training, she had a one-night stand with Maddux Donner and became pregnant. She broke off the pregnancy so as not to endanger her education. She is from Canada.
Trevor Williams Peter Howitt British journalist. He suspects the ISO is not telling the truth about the Antares mission and tries to prove it.
Nadia Schilling Florentine Lahme Florentine Lahme Pilot. She's having an affair with Maddux Donner. Nadia is from Germany .
Eve Weller-Shaw Karen LeBlanc Kathrin Simon Works in ground control and for the Bertram Corporation she is responsible for the crew. Eve is married to Ted Shaw and is from New Orleans .
Rollie Crane Ty Olsson Oliver Mink He had to leave the mission shortly before take off. He is married to Jen Crane and is from the United States.
Steven Wassenfelder Dylan Taylor Dominik Auer Technical genius. The reason for his participation is a mystery.
Ted Shaw Malik Yoba Thomas Wenke Commander. He is married to Eve Weller and previously had a relationship with Jen Crane. Mars mission survivor.
Dr. Evram Mintz Eyal Podell Israeli on-board psychologist and friend of Claire Dereux. Alcoholic.
Claire Dereux Maxim Roy Claudia Lössl She is Evram Mintz's friend.
Arnel Poe William C Vaughan He works at the mission control. He lost his leg while training to qualify for the Antares Mission.
Ajay Sharma Number Paroo He was the original flight engineer, but was reassigned to the mission control after a heart problem caused by Beta. He is from Mumbai, India.

Charisma

The series started on August 2, 2009 on ABC and in Canada on CTV . However, after eight of thirteen episodes produced, both channels withdrew the series prematurely. While ABC offered the rest of the episodes online, the series switched from CTV to niche channel Space TV in Canada .

In Germany, ProSieben held the rights to the series and decided to show the series on station sixx . The episodes were broadcast there from October 7th to 29th, 2012. ProSieben repeated the series from October 11, 2012 in the night program.

In the meantime, myvideo.de, in cooperation with sixx, also owns the rights to the German version of the series and offers all 13 episodes in full length for viewing.
