Demetrio Fernández González (born February 15, 1950 in El Puente del Arzobispo , Spain ) is a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Córdoba .

Life

Demetrio Fernández González received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Toledo on December 22, 1974 through Archbishop Marcelo Cardinal González Martín .

On December 9, 2004, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Tarazona . The Apostolic Nuncio in Spain, Archbishop Manuel Monteiro de Castro , donated him episcopal ordination on January 9, 2005 ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Saragossa , Elías Yanes Álvarez , and the Archbishop of Madrid , Cardinal Antonio María Rouco Varela .

On February 18, 2010 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Cordoba.

Pope Francis appointed him a member of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints on January 11, 2018 .
