Denis-Danso Weidlich (born July 8, 1986 in Hamburg ) is a German - Ghanaian soccer player .

Life

Career

Weidlich started playing soccer at two smaller clubs in Hamburg and then worked for the youth teams of Hamburger SV until 2001 . After training at Arsenal's London Football Academy , he spent two and a half years at Southall United FC. In spring 2006, he returned to Germany for Lüneburger SK, before joining SV Wilhelmshaven in summer 2006 . There he mostly only came on short assignments. Weidlich only made the breakthrough at SV Babelsberg 03 , with whom he rose to the 3rd division in 2009 .

After the 2009/10 season he moved to FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt , for whom he made his professional debut in the third division on July 24, 2010 under coach Stefan Emmerling in a game against the second team of VfB Stuttgart . The midfielder, who mostly plays on the right side, was a regular for the Thuringians for two years and played a total of 67 games in which he scored six times. Weidlich's expiring contract was not extended after the end of the 2011/12 season, which is why he left the club. He found a new job with second division promoted Jahn Regensburg, where he received a two-year contract that was valid for the second and third leagues. The 2012/13 season ended with the direct relegation of SSV Jahn from the 2nd Bundesliga .

During the summer break of 2013, Weidlich moved to FC Hansa Rostock . The contract ended with the 2014/15 season .

For the 2015/16 season , Weidlich moved to league competitor Holstein Kiel . In 2016 he moved to the South African Premier Soccer League at Maritzburg United and has been under contract with Bidvest Wits since 2018 . In summer 2019 he moved back to Germany to the regional league team BSV Rehden . In winter he dissolved his contract there and has been without a club since then.
