Dennis Burkley
Dennis Henry Burkley (born September 10, 1945 in Van Nuys , California - † July 14, 2013 in Sherman Oaks , California) was an American actor .
Life
Dennis Henry Burkley was born in Van Nuys, California in 1945 to Imogene Ware and Henry Burkley. He grew up in Grand Prairie , Texas . He studied acting and received his Masters of Fine Arts from Texas Christian University in 1968 . He then moved to Los Angeles , where he focused on his film career and kept himself afloat with part-time jobs. Since he also worked as a pool cleaner for the film director Bob Rafelson , the latter cast him for his feature film Mr. Universum , among others with the then unknown Arnold Schwarzenegger .
Because of his height of 1.91 m, his weight of more than 150 kg, his southern accent and his pronounced facial hair, Burkley was frequently cast as a villain, rocker or gangster. Through this type casting , Burkley became a prominent supporting actor in well over 100 productions. He was often mistaken for the actor Mickey Jones .
He died of a heart attack on the night of July 14, 2013.
