Mickey Jones
Mickey Jones (born June 10, 1941 in Houston , Texas , † February 7, 2018 there ) was an American musician and actor .
Life
Mickey Jones began his music career in the late 1950s. He played as a drummer for several years, initially in the backing bands of two US stars of the 1960s, Trini Lopez and Johnny Rivers , then he also accompanied Bob Dylan on his world tour in 1966. From 1967 to the mid-1970s he was a member of The First Edition , the band of later country star Kenny Rogers .
From the end of the 1960s he also pursued an acting career. At first he appeared in small supporting roles, then from the 1980s on in slightly larger ones, both in B-action strips and small independent films as well as in some Hollywood blockbusters. He was often cast as the tough guy from the southern or midwestern states. He also had guest appearances in various television series such as TJ Hooker , V - The extraterrestrial visitors are coming , The A-Team , Alf , Baywatch - The lifeguards of Malibu , Alaska , of all things , Listen who's hammering and Justified . As Pete Bilker, one of the three funny construction workers of the fictional company K&B Constructions , who were repeatedly invited as guests at Tim and Al in Tool Time, he appeared in 13 episodes of the series between 1991 and 1999.
Jones died in Houston in February 2018 at the age of 76 after a prolonged illness. He left behind his wife and two children.
