Dennis Grote (born August 9, 1986 in Kaiserslautern ) is a German football player . He has been under contract with Rot-Weiss Essen since the 2019/20 season and is a multiple junior national player.
Career
society
In his youth, Grote played at 1. FC Kaiserslautern , Vorwärts Wettringen and Preußen Münster , before moving to VfL Bochum in 2002 . There he moved directly from the top division reserve to the Bundesliga squad, in the second half of the 2004/05 season Grote was used as an amateur in five Bundesliga games. In the summer of 2005 he signed a professional contract.
On December 16, 2005, Dennis Grote scored his first professional goal in the 88th minute for a 1-0 win in the second division game against SpVgg Unterhaching . On Easter Monday 2006 he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga with VfL Bochum. Grote scored his first Bundesliga goal on May 5, 2007 in VfL's 3-0 away win against Hamburger SV .
For the winter break 2010/11 he moved to Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , but left the club after relegation to the 3rd division. Trial training in the following period at Alemannia Aachen and in England at Leeds United were unsuccessful.
During the winter break of the 2011/12 season , Dennis Grote joined the third division team Preußen Münster . There he signed a contract for one and a half years until June 30, 2013, which was automatically extended by a clause in March 2013 to June 30, 2014, and was the first in the league game against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen on January 21, 2012 Time for the Münsteraner on the square. In April 2014, he signed a contract with league rivals MSV Duisburg, valid from the summer . In this he took a permanent place and in 2015 reached promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with the team. In the run-up to the 2016/17 season , he joined Chemnitzer FC . In the following season Grote rose with the Saxons due to a point deduction due to insolvency in the Regionalliga Nordost , but immediately managed to rise again as champions with the team.
For the 2019/20 season , the midfielder signed a contract with Rot-Weiss Essen that will run until 2021.
National team
He was in the German U19 youth team in 2005. In 2006 he was appointed to the U20 national team and in February 2007 to the U21 for the first time. At the U21 European Championship in Sweden in 2009 , he won the title alongside teammates like Manuel Neuer , Mesut Özil and Sami Khedira by beating England 4-0 in the final.
