The La Viña Department is one of the twenty-three administrative units of the Salta Province in northwestern Argentina . It is located in the southern center of the province. It is bordered by the Chicoana Department to the north, the Guachipas Department to the east, the Cafayate Department to the south and the San Carlos Department to the west .

The capital of the department is the city of the same name, La Viña .
