The wedding day is one of Konrad Sabrautzky staged marital drama for the Hessian Radio . The script was written by Irina Korschunow , the main roles were cast with Witta Pohl (known from Die Drombuschs ) and Dieter Kirchlechner . The first broadcast on ARD was on March 14, 1985.

The film must not be confused with the film of the same name with Cher in the lead role.

action

The housewife and mother Ulla Kranz has apparently been happily married to her Werner for twenty-three years. Then she has to find out that her husband is cheating on her with the young and attractive Marion. A world collapses for Ulla and blames herself for what she might have done wrong. Werner finally decides to move in with his young love, Marion, but notices after a short time that living together with a much younger woman also calls for compromises. Ulla, on the other hand, wants to escape her anger and despair with work. But when she doesn't get a suitable job so quickly, she travels alone to think about herself and her previous life.
