Derinkuyu ( Turkish for deep well / shaft ) is a village in the district of Tavas in the Turkish province of Denizli . Derinkuyu is located about 75 km south of the provincial capital Denizli and 36 km south of Tavas. According to the last census, Derinkuyu had 546 inhabitants (as of December 2010).
