history

Baharlar originated about 200 years ago when the two large nomadic families, the Karaçalıoğlu and Keçelioğlu , immigrated to Tavas. The Karaçalıoğlu settled in the small village of Baharlar and the Keçelioğlu settled in the neighboring village of Keçeliler . Both families were Yörüken from the neighboring province of Muğla , of oghusian-Turkish descent . The two families came in spring, hence the name of the small town, as bahar means spring in German . The Yörüken in Baharlar were called Bahar yörükleri by the residents of the surrounding villages , which means something like " The Yörüken of spring ".
