Detlev Block

Detlev Block (born May 15, 1934 in Hanover ) is a retired German Protestant pastor , professor ( hc ), writer , poet and hymn poet .

Life

Detlev Block was pastor in St. Andreasberg in the Upper Harz and Hameln and from 1967 to 1998 pastor at the town church in Bad Pyrmont , where he lives after his retirement.

Detlev Block has published over 80 books and is represented in more than 300 anthologies and compilations with song texts, sacred poetry, prose and meditations. In addition, he became known through numerous articles and lectures as a committed mediator of astronomical expertise, in 1982 his work Astronomy as a Hobby was published .

He is a member of the Association of German Writers and the Society for Contemporary Poetry . On September 19, 1999 he was introduced as the successor in will of Rudolf Otto Wiemer (1905-1998) in the Bovenden area near Göttingen as Burgschreiber zu Plesse (honorary title for life).
