German table tennis championship 1948

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 16th national German table tennis championship - played for the 1947/48 season - took place on November 29 and 30, 1947 in Göttingen . It was organized and carried out by the Turnclub Göttingen 1846 eV It was the second German championship after the end of the Second World War.

Only Hilde Bussmann managed to defend her title. She won the final against Rösel Hartinger , which was already in the semifinals of the German championship in 1939 under the maiden name "Fahlbusch". In the absence of last year's winner Dieter Mauritz , who was more active in tennis at the time, Heinz Raack from Berlin was the German champion ahead of Kurt Braun . The double competitions were won by Heinz Raack / Helmut Germany and Erika Richter / Isolde Thormeyer , the mixed was seen by Helmuth Hoffmann / Berti Capellmann in front.

All competitions were held in the best-of-five mode (three sets of wins).

The results are only incomplete in the reports.
