German Theater Prize Der Faust

The German Theater Prize Der Faust (spelling: German Theater Prize DER FAUST ) has been awarded as a national theater prize since 2006 . The organizers are the Deutsche Bühnenverein , the Kulturstiftung der Länder , the German Academy of Performing Arts and the respective federal state in which the award ceremony takes place. The Austrian set designer Erich Wonder designed the trophy .

A jury consisting of the members of the Artistic Committee of the Deutsches Bühnenverein and “selected external consultants” nominates three artists per category from the theaters' suggestions, which are not allowed to name their own production. The members of the German Academy of Performing Arts will select the winners in writing. The prize is awarded in eight categories and is undoped.
